Legal / Data practices
Privacy & Cookies
A plain account of the limited information used to operate the site, deliver research and remember reader choices.
01 / Scope, operator and related brands
This Privacy & Cookies Notice applies to this website, Clinaptis research publications, company pages, interactive models, email subscriptions and direct communications (collectively, the “Services”).
Clinaptis Research and Clinaptis Advisors are inter-related brands under common direction. Clinaptis Research is the public research and publishing platform. References to “Clinaptis,” “we,” “us” or “our” in this Notice cover the operation of the Services under both related brand names. Neither brand’s name changes how personal information is handled under this Notice.
Questions, requests and complaints about personal information may be sent to bikram@clinaptisresearch.com. Where applicable law uses terms such as “data fiduciary,” “controller” or “business,” Clinaptis is responsible for the processing described here, subject to the roles of the service providers identified below.
02 / Information we collect
- Newsletter information. When you subscribe, we receive or can access your email address, subscription status, signup source and related opt-in or unsubscribe records through Mailchimp or Loops, the email-service providers Clinaptis uses or may use for its newsletter. Depending on campaign settings and your email client, these providers may also record delivery, bounce, open and link-click activity.
- Information you send. If you contact Clinaptis, we receive the address and name you use, the contents of your message, and any other information you choose to provide.
- Website and device information. Hosting and security providers may process request information such as IP address, approximate location derived from IP, browser and device type, requested page, referring page, timestamps, performance data and security logs.
- Local preferences. The site stores limited choices in your browser so it can remember reading settings and avoid repeatedly showing a dismissed subscription prompt. These values remain on your device and are not user profiles.
Please do not submit medical records, patient information, account credentials, trading instructions, government identifiers or other sensitive personal information through the subscription or general contact channels.
03 / Why and how information is used
Clinaptis uses personal information to deliver requested research communications; maintain subscription and suppression records; respond to enquiries; operate, secure and troubleshoot the Services; remember reader-requested settings; prevent abuse; comply with law; and establish, exercise or defend legal rights.
Depending on the applicable law and context, processing may be based on your consent, performance of a service you requested, compliance with a legal obligation, or legitimate interests in operating and securing the Services. You may withdraw newsletter consent at any time without affecting processing that occurred before withdrawal.
Clinaptis does not sell or rent subscriber lists or personal information. As of the effective date, the website does not use advertising pixels or cross-site behavioral tracking. It uses Google Analytics 4 for aggregate site analytics only if you accept analytics, with Google signals and ad personalization turned off. Clinaptis does not intentionally send subscriber email addresses or other directly identifying information to Google Analytics: page addresses are reduced to the path and vetted campaign tags, referrers are reduced to an address without query strings or fragments, and the subscription form posts directly to the email provider rather than through analytics. Your analytics choice does not affect newsletter signup.
04 / Cookies and browser storage
The current site does not intentionally set advertising cookies. It uses first-party browser storage for the following functional preferences:
clinaptis-subscribe-dismissed-atremembers for 14 days that you dismissed or submitted the subscription dialog.clinaptis-reading-backgroundremembers your selected article background.clinaptis-reading-text-sizeremembers your selected article text size.clinaptis-fontremembers your selected article font.clinaptis-analytics-consentremembers whether you accepted or rejected analytics on the production website.
The reading preferences remain until you clear them or clear site data in your browser. Blocking or clearing storage will not prevent access to published research, but preferences and prompt-dismissal state may no longer persist.
Only if you accept analytics on the production website, Google Analytics 4 also sets first-party analytics cookies (named _ga and _ga_ followed by an identifier) to recognise repeat visits and count page views. They are not advertising cookies. If you reject or ignore the analytics choice, nothing is requested from Google for analytics and these cookies are not set. The site remains fully usable either way.
Your analytics choice
Turning analytics off stops further analytics from the page you are on and removes the analytics cookies. You can also block them in your browser settings or with Google’s opt-out browser add-on.
Third-party destinations—including Mailchimp or Loops signup pages and linked external sources—apply their own cookie and privacy practices after you leave this site. Email open and click measurement, when enabled in Mailchimp or Loops, occurs through campaign technologies rather than these first-party reading preferences.
05 / Service providers and international processing
Clinaptis uses a limited group of providers to operate the Services:
- Mailchimp / Intuit receives subscription information and provides audience management, email delivery, unsubscribe and campaign-reporting functions. Its privacy statement applies to its processing.
- Loops (operated by Astrodon Corporation), which Clinaptis uses or may use alongside or instead of Mailchimp, may receive subscription information and provide audience management, email delivery, unsubscribe and campaign-reporting functions. Its privacy policy applies to its processing.
- Vercel hosts and delivers the website and may process technical, request, performance and security data. Its privacy notice describes that processing.
- Google Analytics (Google LLC) measures aggregate site usage on the production website, only if you accept analytics. It receives page addresses, referrers and ordinary browser, device and network information such as an IP address. Clinaptis keeps query strings other than campaign tags out of the page addresses it sends. Google’s privacy policy applies.
- Google Fonts supplies font files requested by a visitor’s browser. Requests to Google can include ordinary network information such as an IP address and browser headers. Google’s privacy policy applies.
These providers may process information in countries other than your own, including the United States. Where required, Clinaptis relies on provider contractual safeguards or other lawful transfer mechanisms. Clinaptis may also disclose information when legally required, to protect rights or security, or in connection with a legitimate business reorganization.
06 / Retention
Newsletter information is retained while you remain subscribed. After unsubscribe, limited suppression and compliance records may be retained so that Clinaptis can honor the request and avoid re-adding the address inadvertently. Correspondence is retained only as reasonably needed to respond, maintain records, resolve disputes or comply with law.
Hosting, security and email-service records are retained under the relevant provider settings and policies. Clinaptis seeks to delete or anonymize personal information when it is no longer reasonably needed, subject to legal, security, backup and dispute-resolution requirements.
07 / Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, updating, deletion, a copy of personal information, restriction or objection to processing, withdrawal of consent, or review of a privacy complaint. These rights may be limited by applicable exceptions.
To exercise a right, email bikram@clinaptisresearch.com and identify the request and the email address concerned. Clinaptis may ask for proportionate verification before acting. You may unsubscribe through the recipient-specific link in any Clinaptis email or follow the website instructions.
If you believe a request has not been resolved, you may have the right to complain to the data-protection authority or other competent regulator where you live.
08 / Security and data minimization
Clinaptis uses service providers and reasonable administrative and technical measures intended to protect personal information. No website, transmission or storage system is completely secure, and absolute security cannot be guaranteed.
Clinaptis limits direct collection to information reasonably needed for the Services. It does not request payment information, brokerage credentials, portfolio holdings, medical records or patient-level data through this website.
09 / Children
The Services are intended for professional and general adult audiences and are not directed to children. Clinaptis does not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has submitted information, contact Clinaptis so the matter can be reviewed and addressed.
10 / Changes, external links and contact
Clinaptis may update this Notice when the Services, providers or legal requirements change. The date at the top identifies the current version. Material changes will be presented through an appropriate notice where required.
This site links to third-party websites and sources that operate under their own notices and controls. Clinaptis is not responsible for their privacy or security practices.
Privacy questions and requests may be sent to bikram@clinaptisresearch.com.
